Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience
  • 15 years of relevant professional experience in startups, VC, PE or digital native companies
  • 10 years of experience working with startup founders and within the startup ecosystem (with incubators, accelerators, etc.)
  • 10 years of experience developing engagement strategies and GTM motions that balance engagement with scaled programs
  • 10 years of experience working within the VC or PE ecosystem as a limited partner, general partner, advisor, or analyst
Preferred qualifications:
  • MBA or advanced degree in Finance
  • 20 years of professional experience within the Venture, Private Equity, Startup space
  • International experience building and leading teams across borders
  • Experience developing comprehensive GTM strategies, including defining input and output measures to drive behavior and compensation planning
  • Experience in organization design and leadership/people development

As a part of that function, Google Cloud has formed a new Venture Capital and Private Equity function, which owns the most important relationships with the top funding sources in Venture Capital (VC) and Private Equity (PE) globally. This team seeks to engage with the right firms at a senior level of influence to ensure that Google Cloud gains access to new startups early in their formation, along with gaining influence and access to senior decision‑makers in enterprises via private equity relationships.

The Director, Global Venture Capital and Private Equity, is a senior leadership role within the Global Startup organization within Google Cloud. You will define and implement a highly differentiated strategy focused on delivering accelerated results from the most influential funding sources in VC and PE globally. In this role, you will manage a team of global functional leaders who focus on select relationships, along with driving a more scaled engagement motion in focus firms. You will also define a new scale‑based, lower touch strategy to ensure that Google Cloud is educating information and AI/cloud thought leadership broadly and with minimal human intervention. You’ll play a critical and very visible leadership role both within Google Cloud and in the market at large, acting as a spokesperson and ambassador to startup founders, VC firms, CxOs, and private equity leadership – not to mention be press‑approved to speak at events and programs externally.

The US base salary range for this full‑time position is $192,000‑$270,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.   • Define and implement a differentiated strategy to accelerate Google Cloud adoption within VC and PE firms globally, driving measurable results and market share growth.
