VAULT CLERK
Job Description & Core Responsibilities
Position Title: Vault Clerk
Department: Inventory Control
Reports To: Inventory Control Manager
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Pay Grade: Grade 6
Starting Wage: $18.00 - $21.10
Gaming Classification: Compact/Gaming

Position Summary:
The Vault Clerk is responsible for the secure and efficient flow of currency and cash-equivalent documents through the vault to support daily gaming and general revenue operations. This position ensures accurate cash handling, maintains kiosk operations, and upholds compliance with company policies, regulatory standards, and confidentiality requirements.
Core Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Deliver exceptional guest service by being knowledgeable about FBRC and events with professionalism, courtesy, and promptness.
  • Perform responsibilities independently and efficiently, maximizing use of time and resources.
  • Monitor and maintain kiosk currency levels; perform audits, drops, basic troubleshooting, and arrange maintenance when necessary.
  • Enforce safety standards through correct lifting techniques and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
  • Maintain control and security over assigned work area at all times.
  • Follow all cash handling procedures with precision and comply with all internal policies and SOPs.
  • Maintain knowledge of company policies, regulatory compliance standards, and SOPs.
  • Distribute cash and equivalent documents across all casino departments.
  • Issue and return banks for revenue departments; replenish Cage cashier banks and perform necessary swaps and exchanges.
  • Verify and receive table game and slot drops into the vault; generate related reports.
  • Accurately count, track, and handle chip denominations and associated procedures.
  • Distribute and destroy playing cards as per policy.
  • Move heavy bags/boxes of coin for cashier bank replenishment.
  • Assemble and prepare promotional coupon packages.
  • Ensure compliance with key issuance policies; audit sensitive keys and maintain accurate logs.
  • Track lost and found money transactions.
  • Knowledge of money counting / rolling machines.
  • Perform minor repairs and cleaning of coin counting/rolling machines.
  • Assist with staff scheduling and coverage for call-ins.
  • Operate an adding machine and other basic office equipment effectively.
  • Attend all required meetings and trainings.
  • Maintain awareness of current promotional events.
  • Use internal systems (e.g., Quickets, VIP Shield, Lightspeed, Kiosk Dashboard) accurately and proficiently.
  • Effectively use Microsoft programs (e.g., Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook).
  • Maintain and communicate daily logs, emails, and shift notes for continuity.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of Title 31, SARC, Employee Right to Know, and Bloodborne Pathogens procedures.
  • Remain alert to potential hazards and report concerns promptly.
  • Notify the Inventory Control Manager of any problems throughout your shift.
  • Serve as a cashier when necessary.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications - Education and Experience:
Minimum Requirements:

Work Environment:
Fast-paced, requiring consistent focus, attention to detail, and overall good mental and physical health.
Physical Demands:

  • Able to lift up to 100 pounds.
  • Comfortable climbing ladders and performing physical tasks such as kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
  • Can tolerate exposure to bright lights, loud noises, and various scents.
  • Proficient in performing repetitive motions related to computer and machine operation.

Preference:It is the policy of the Bois Forte Band, pursuant to tribal and federal law, to give preference to qualified Native Americans in hiring, promotion, and departmental transfers. Preference will be extended to members of the Bois Forte Band, members of other federally recognized tribes and to status Natives born in Canada.
Flexible schedule, must be available on weekends. Shifts available: Mid-day 11A-9P, 1P-11P, Evening 5P-3A, and Overnight 9P-7A.
