PAY RATE: The hourly rate for this job is $19.23 plus the possibility of additional performance-based incentives.
The pay will vary based on criteria such as education, experience and qualifications of the applicant, location, internal equity, and alignment with the market.
HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
A Varsity Spirit Inside Sales Specialist is responsible for prospecting and building a sales pipeline for the outside sales team, as well as directly closing sales. They will work closely with Regional Sales Managers, Sales Representatives, and State Directors to ensure sales goals are met. They will also be responsible for researching accounts to ensure accurate account information is maintained in the system.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
  • Prospect, build a sales pipeline, and close sales for the outside sales team via outbound calling, email communications, social networks, and other direct marketing methods.
  • Research accounts, identify key customers and generate interest in Varsity Spirit's apparel, competition and training and education brands.
  • Listen to a customer's needs and present products based on customer knowledge, insight and intuition.
  • Consistently log and record all outreach made in salesforce.com, producing regular activity reports as requested by the Inside Sales Manager.
  • Qualify all sales leads and route qualified opportunities to the appropriate outside sales representatives for further development and closure.
  • Follow up with each outside sales representative on qualified leads. Determine results and follow up appropriately to ensure the customer's needs were met.
  • Meet daily, weekly, and monthly phone and email communication goals as defined by the Inside Sales Manager.
  • Maintain and expand a database of prospects within an assigned territory.
  • Demonstrate a desire for team success by keeping an eye open for process improvement.

QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • Maintain a positive, encouraging attitude at all times.

  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Outstanding organization skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize various projects and deadlines.
  • Ability to handle a fast-paced environment and challenging workload.

  • Experience in lead nurturing, lead generation, and appointment setting.
  • Strong phone presence and experience dialing dozens of calls per day.

Education/Experience:
  • 1+ years sales experience (inside sales preferable)
  • Experience with Varsity's products and internal procedures preferred.
  • Experience with the following systems/applications preferred: Salesforce.com (CRM), Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc)
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications or related field
