Job description

Description
The purpose of this position is to ship, receive, warehouse, inventory, stage, and deliver both raw materials and finished good products. This requires working within four warehouse environments and the servicing of four high-volume production areas: Digital, Offset, Bindery, and Flexo. In addition, a critical purpose of this position is the shipment of retail specific finished products, most important of which are weekly shelf tag price changes.
The responsibilities listed on this position analysis are not intended to be all-inclusive and additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
  • Responsible for the accurate reading and comprehension of written job specifications. Job specifications provide the production details of each job/finished product.
  • Responsible for shipping, receiving, inventorying, staging, and delivering materials/finished products.
  • Responsible for the safe and efficient operator maintenance and cleanliness of all industrial power warehouse equipment, such as forklifts, motorized pallet jacks, high-lift cherry pickers, a 24-foot box truck, and four warehouse (WH#9,WH #10, Flexo, and Annex) environments.
  • Responsible for performing monthly cycle counts for all raw materials and finished products.
  • Responsible for the timely and accurate accounting and reporting of production time and materials, via shop-floor data collection terminals.

Year End Bonus
To reward associates for their contributions to the company for the calendar year, Publix provides a Holiday Bonus in November. In the first year of continuous employment the bonus is equal to 15 hours of pay, and in the second year of continuous employment the bonus is equal to one week's pay if associate remains employed through issue date of the bonus check. In subsequent years, the bonus is equal to two weeks' pay.
Required Qualifications
  • High School diploma or the equivalent
  • General printing knowledge and the ability to recognize problems that could adversely affect the quality of the substrate/finished product
  • Math and measurement, including: standard ruler, American/Metric conversions, substrate basis weight measurements, and calculate and estimate measurements of time
  • High degree of mechanical skill, combined with the ability to operate industrial power warehouse equipment, such as forklifts, motorized pallet jacks, and high-lift cherry picker and a 24-foot box truck.
  • Ability to multi-task; adaptability and versatility (change) skills
  • Physical abilities, including: the lifting of up to 70 pounds, extended walking/standing (up to 14 hours/day), bending, and squatting
  • Written and verbal communication skills
  • Interpersonal and teamwork skills
  • Problem solving skills
  • Incumbent must be willing and able to work variable work schedules when and as required by the work load, which may include weekend and/or holiday hours

  • Associate of Science in Graphic Arts or the equivalent,
  • Two years of warehouse experience
  • Industrial power warehouse equipment, such as forklift, motorized pallet jacks, high-lift cherry picker, and a 24-foot box truck certifications.

  • Shop Floor Data Collection, via Monarch Data Collection (thin net) Terminals
  • Knowledge of Publix and Printing Services job and code numbering systems, including Publix order book coding and finished goods numbering systems.
