Vanguard's College to Corporate Internship Program is an immersive, hands-on opportunity to learn the fundamentals of technical product management at one of the world's leading investment firms.

As a Technical Product Manager Intern, you'll work alongside experienced Product Managers, engineers, designers, and business partners to understand client needs, frame opportunities, support product delivery, and help shape innovative technology solutions. Through real-world projects, mentorship, and professional development, you'll gain exposure to modern product management practices while building the skills needed to drive impactful products and platforms. In this internship you will:
  • Support Product Managers in understanding user needs, researching problems, and identifying opportunities to improve digital products and platforms
  • Participate in product discovery activities, including user research, feedback analysis, hypothesis development, and opportunity framing
  • Help translate business and user needs into user stories, acceptance criteria, process documentation, and product artifacts
  • Collaborate with engineers, designers, data analysts, and business partners to support product delivery and continuous improvement
  • Gain hands-on experience with Agile delivery practices, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, prioritization discussions, and team ceremonies
  • Develop technical fluency in areas such as APIs, cloud platforms, data flows, system integrations, automation, and modern software delivery practices
  • Explore how AI, machine learning, and automation can create value while learning about responsible and ethical implementation
  • Use data, dashboards, research findings, and performance metrics to support recommendations and inform product decisions
  • Build relationships with program managers, alumni, senior leaders, mentors, and peers across Vanguard
  • Receive personalized coaching and mentorship from your manager, internship program manager, and product professionals throughout the summer
What it takes
  • In pursuit of a bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Business Technology, Analytics, Data Science, Engineering, Product Management, or a related field
  • Strong interest in technology, digital product management, and creating solutions that improve client and business outcomes
  • Curiosity about modern technologies including APIs, cloud computing, data platforms, AI, machine learning, and automation
  • Exposure through coursework, internships, projects, research, or extracurricular activities to software development, product management, business analysis, or technology delivery
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze information, solve problems, and make evidence-based recommendations
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and/or leadership aspirations
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across teams and work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Comfort learning in complex, regulated environments and navigating ambiguity with a growth mindset
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher preferred
