Job description

Position Summary:
The Wrapline Worker at Vanguard Furniture supports the upholstery production process by preparing and wrapping furniture frames and components to meet Vanguard's high standards of craftsmanship and quality. This role plays a critical part in ensuring each piece is properly padded, protected, and ready for final upholstery or finishing.
Position Responsibilities:
  • Wrap furniture frames using foam, batting, and other upholstery materials according to Vanguard specifications and build standards
  • Apply materials smoothly and securely to ensure proper shape, comfort, and durability of finished products
  • Follow detailed work orders, build sheets, and supervisor instructions to meet custom and standard product requirements
  • Inspect frames and materials prior to wrapping to ensure they meet quality expectations
  • Identify and report defects in frames, materials, or previous production stages
  • Prepare wrapped frames for upholsterers by ensuring proper padding, alignment, and material placement
  • Maintain proper material usage to minimize waste, especially with high-end fabrics and components
  • Support production flow by staging, stacking, and moving frames along the wrapline efficiently
  • Collaborate with upholsterers, sewing, and frame departments to ensure smooth workflow
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in accordance with company policies
  • Use of open flame propane torches in a safe matter not to cause personal injury or defect furniture
  • Utilize proper PPE where designated
Essential Skills and Experience:
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented manufacturing environment
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to Vanguard's quality standards
  • Ability to follow build specifications and production instructions
  • Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
  • Ability to lift and handle furniture frames and materials (up to 50 lbs individually, 50+ will require team lifting)
  • Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
  • Standing for extended periods throughout the shift
  • Frequent lifting, bending, reaching, pushing and pulling
  • Repetitive use of hands and arms for wrapping and material placement
  • Upholstery manufacturing floor with moderate noise levels
  • Exposure to fabrics, foam, adhesives, and upholstery tools
  • Team-based production setting focused on craftsmanship and efficiency
