Job description

Owns specific projects o n strategic analysis, competitive research, and product/service evaluation. Derives key insights for FAS through competitive research. Inform division wide strategy and decision making by analyzing complex data, diagnosing business issues or opportunities , evaluating FAS 's strategy compared to our competitors, and uncovering ways to improve advisor and investor outcomes across business offerings.
Responsibilities:
  • Drive strong business outcomes through accurate , high impact, data-driven analyses, and is comfortable with ambiguity.

  • Develop and manage effective working relationships with internal clients (primarily senior leaders) and key stakeholders/business partners.

  • Create compelling storylines through which to deliver strategic, competitive, and product/offer analyses and recommendations to senior leaders.

  • Provides direction and guidance to a team of strategy analysts aligned with each Vanguard line of business around key strategic topics and questions.

  • Provides thought-leadership by identifying strategic topics and presenting compelling ideas for research evaluation to the Corporate Strategy organization.

  • Participates in department-level planning for Vanguard, contributing insights derived from analysis and synthesis of the team. Manages client relationships and anticipates needs.

  • Conducts efficient and thorough analyses of substantial (i.e., high impact) strategic issues confronting FAS utilizing strateg ic methodologies.

  • Leverages and manages cross-functional teams as required . Prepares and presents strategic analysis, findings, and recommendations to senior management (e.g., story-lines , presentations , whitepapers ).

  • Develops and implements strategic plans to achieve departmental objectives . Works with senior management in the planning, development and execution of short and long range goals.

  • Keeps abreast of industry, market and company trends, and partners with business leaders to understand key concerns and opportunities for each line of business; tailors analysis and synthesis around these topics.

  • Participates in special projects and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience ( Master's degree or PhD preferred).

  • Minimum of eight years' business experience, including significant experience in strategy consulting and financial analysis.
