Ferguson is currently seeking the right individual to fill an immediate need for a Valve Technician. If you have a love of meeting people and providing great customer service, coupled with an interest in contributing directly to the bottom line of a multi-billion-dollar organization, this is the position for you!

Hours: Monday- Friday 6am -2:30pm– overtime as needed -on call schedule possible weekends

Responsibilities:
As a Valve Technician, you will be responsible for the following, including, but not limited to:
  • Assemble, wire, calibrate, test, troubleshoot, and repair a variety of automated valve packages, with a primary focus on Limitorque electric actuators.
  • Perform Limitorque actuator setup, calibration, diagnostics, maintenance, and repair at Ferguson VAC location.
  • Perform field service work including installation, startup, commissioning, inspection, repair, and support of Limitorque actuators and related valve automation equipment.
  • Work safely with and around live industrial electrical systems, including 240V and 480V, on a daily basis.
  • Read and interpret customer specifications, wiring diagrams, schematics, actuator manuals, and technical documents.
  • Follow all established standard operating procedures for valve automation, including maintaining a safe and organized workspace and observing necessary safety precautions during assembly, testing, storage, and transfer of product.
  • Interact professionally and courteously with inside sales, outside sales, management, warehouse personnel, and customers when addressing technical questions and service needs.
  • Assist in supporting technical training related to valve automation and Limitorque/MOV products.
  • Travel out of town as needed for field service, customer support, and factory product training.
  • Must adhere to all safety regulations, including the correct usage of personal protective equipment (PPE). This includes wearing a safety harness with a maximum weight capacity of 400 lbs.
  • Must be able to lift up to 80 lbs.
  • May be responsible for providing driver duties and responsibilities.

Qualifications:
  • Must be at least 18 years old. 
  • Valid state issued license is required.
  • High school diploma, trade school certification or related technical education preferred.
  • Recent graduates, trade school students, community college graduates, and candidates with strong mechanical or electrical aptitude are encouraged to apply.
  • Experience working with tools, equipment, electrical systems, automotive repair, industrial maintenance, construction, HVAC, welding, machining, or other hands-on technical environments is a plus.
  • Interest in learning industrial automation, valve automation, and electric actuator technologies.
  • Ability to read and understand technical documentation, wiring diagrams, and schematics, or a willingness to learn.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to travel for field service work and training opportunities.
  • Basic computer skills required; experience with Microsoft Office or Smartsheet is a plus.
  • Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Self-motivated with a desire to learn new skills and grow within a technical career path.

Pay Range: $19.15 - $28.72

Estimated Ranges displayed are Monthly for Salaried roles OR Hourly for all other roles.

This role is Bonus or Incentive Plan eligible.
