The Senior Assembler will assemble mechanical, hydraulic and electrical components to produce industrial assemblies conforming to product and customer specifications using hand tools, powered tools and material handling equipment.
YOUR IMPACT
  • Provide work center guidance and training of other associates
  • Identify and implement solutions for improved product build process, design or work center layout
  • Assist Value Stream Leadership in ensuring work center or business goals are achieved measured by Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost key performance indicators
  • Use and interpret blueprints, product specifications and technical specifications
  • Understand and demonstrate performance of multiple work center requirements and manufacturing disciplines
  • Trouble shoot and problem solve assembly challenges and work with support departments to create corrective action
  • Active participation in team daily management and problem solving
  • Work as part of a team to achieve daily production goals in an industrial manufacturing environment
  • Use various types of hand tools in the assembly
  • Use and interpret mechanical drawings and bills of material
  • Use and interpret Standard Work, SOPs or Work Instructions to conform to process specifications
  • Make electrical connections using prefabricated harnesses
  • Self-audit/inspect assembled work using drawings and checklists
  • Ability to work productively and cohesively in a diverse and multicultural environment
  • Inform Value Stream leadership of Safety or Quality non-conformances or opportunities for improvement

QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate (GED)
  • 10+ years' experience with medium/heavy mechanical assembly required
  • Demonstrated performance of thorough understanding of blueprints and technical documentation
  • Ability to operate mechanical and electrical tooling
  • Attention to detail, quality and safety
  • Ability to use judgment to perform and make decisions as to the sequence of setups, operations, and processes within the limitations of recognized or standard methods and procedures
