Operations Job Description
Pay Grade 4
Position: Product Authenticator
Basic Function
Authenticate and price luxury apparel, accessories, and other high-value merchandise for retail and eCommerce sales channels.
General Responsibilities
Authentication
  • Use brand knowledge, internet research, approved authentication tools, AI resources, and third-party authentication services to differentiate between counterfeit and authentic luxury merchandise
  • Submit applicable merchandise to approved third-party authentication services for verification of authenticity
  • Properly remove and dispose of counterfeit merchandise according to company procedures
  • Authenticate categories including apparel, shoes, handbags, wallets, belts, scarves, jewelry, watches, sunglasses, accessories, and miscellaneous luxury goods

Pricing
  • Use internet research, company reporting tools, catalogs, manifests, and spreadsheets to determine accurate pricing for authentic merchandise
  • Stay up to date on current luxury, designer, and streetwear trends
  • Maintain knowledge of new and emerging luxury, trendy, and streetwear brands
  • Evaluate merchandise quality and condition
  • Enter product information into the company pricing application
  • Attach price tags and security tags appropriately
  • Monitor sales channel needs and allocate product accordingly between Retail and eCommerce

Inventory & Processing
  • Scan and process high-value merchandise into appropriate sales channels using company inventory systems

Operational Responsibilities
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area using LEAN and 5S standards
  • Cross-train in other pricing areas as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to work on a computer for extended periods of time
  • Ability to regularly lift light to moderately weighted items

Educational Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Basic computer and typing skills required

Scheduled Hours
  • 40-hour work week, Monday-Friday, 6:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m., with mandatory overtime as needed
  • Mandatory workdays include:
    • Fridays preceding Labor Day, Memorial Day, and Winter Event
    • Saturday before Thanksgiving
    • Business day before Fourth of July
  • Required to work one holiday per year on the Retail Sales Floor

Reports directly to Pricing Manager
