About Technical Operations
BioMarinโ€™s Technical Operations group is responsible for creating our drugs for use in clinical trials and for scaling production of those drugs for the commercial market. These engineers, technicians, scientists and support staff build and maintain BioMarinโ€™s cutting-edge manufacturing processes and sites, provide quality assurance and quality control to ensure we meet regulatory standards, and procure the needed goods and services to support manufacturing and coordinating the worldwide movement of our drugs to patients.


Role Scope:

The Value Chain Product Leader is accountable for designing,ย operating, and continuously improving a bestย inย class, endย toย end value chain that reliably connects patients to medicines. This role provides focused,ย end-to-endย accountability for the product value chain within a defined scope, ensuring alignment to product strategy, enterprise standards, and regulatory requirements.ย

As a matrix leader, the Value Chain Product Leader leads theย Product (s)ย functionalย Value Stream Team (VST) andย representsย Supply Chain on TOPS Product Teams (TPTs)ย forย assets onย development. The role ensures a compliant, robust, resilient, andย cost-effectiveย supply chain across clinical and commercial stages of the product lifecycle.ย

The Value Chain Product Leader proactively manages risk, drives lifecycle and network strategies, and leads mitigation when patientย level supply risks areย identified, including supply assessments that inform Global Issue Management and regulatory notification decisions.ย

  • Own the design, performance, and continuous improvement of the product value chain, aligned to enterprise strategy and standards.ย

Minimumย Requirementsย 
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree (BS/BSc) in life sciences, engineering, supply chain, or business administration, with 8โ€“12+ years in materials management/production planning/scheduling, 5โ€“10+ years in GMP/GCP compliant pharmaceutical operations, and 2โ€“5+ years leading global, cross functional, matrixed teams.ย 
  • Strong supply chain and value chain managementย expertise,ย ERPย expertiseย (Oracle or SAP preferred), pharmaceutical regulatory frameworks (GMP, ICH),ย riskย and project/program management.ย 
  • Demonstrated capability to assess issues across Regulatory, Quality, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing perspectivesย 
  • Executiveโ€‘levelย communication,ย influenceโ€‘basedย leadership,ย crossโ€‘cultural/global execution, strategic and operational thinking, continuousย improvementย and process excellence mindsetย ย
