Job description

ICONIQ is seeking a Valuations Manager to support valuation analysis and performance reporting across its Venture & Growth and Real Assets investment portfolios. This role partners closely with investment teams to evaluate portfolio companies, deliver valuation insights, and contribute to cross-functional projects requiring strong analytical, communication, and project management skills.

What You'll Do: 

  • Develop subject matter expertise in all things valuation, including industry and investment specific valuation methodologies and reporting requirements. Specialize in growth equity, debt, real estate, and complex securities valuation
  • Prepare / Review valuation analysis and memos for all Level 3 investments in accordance with valuation policy and ASC 820
  • Prepare summary exhibits and review fund level valuations in connection with quarterly Valuation Committee meetings
  • Prepare and maintain performance calculations for investment level and fund level portfolio monitoring
  • Maintain data set used for preparation of portfolio company valuations including tracking private company financials, financings, cap tables, and projections as needed
  • Manage iLevel data collection platform and other analytics software tools
  • Consult with investment associates and senior team on a regular basis to gather qualitative portfolio company updates and feedback for valuation analysis
  • Provide audit and investor relations support for portfolio company valuation related queries
  • Support the finance and investment teams with ad-hoc projects including preparing materials for meetings and providing individual reporting with respect to portfolio company valuations and fund/investment performance metrics
  • Review and assist with back-testing and maintenance of valuation policy / procedures / governance

Ideal Candidate Background

  • 4+ years of experience, including but not limited to: Big 4 Valuations / Transaction Services, and/or Valuations Consulting. Valuations / Portfolio Monitoring experience at a PE/VC firm is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience reviewing and providing feedback on valuation work product prepared by junior team members
  • Superior Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Proficiency with Capital IQ / Factset / Bloomberg. Experience with valuation software is a strong plus
  • Bachelor's degree with concentration in finance / accounting / economics
  • CFA / ASA / CPA / CEIV is a plus
  • Experience with real estate / debt / complex security valuation is a strong plus
  • Technology / Real estate sector knowledge is a plus

Compensation Range: ICONIQ is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this role, together with other compensation being offered such as a discretionary bonus, health insurance, and other perks. There are several factors taken into consideration in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. At ICONIQ, we apply a total reward philosophy where all aspects of compensation and benefits are taken into consideration in determining compensation terms. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range is $130,000 - $160,000 together with a discretionary bonus, health insurance, paid time off, 401k participation with a company matching program, wellness stipend, personal education allowance as well as a commuter benefits program.
