As a Valuation Services Intern you will:
  • Work closely with practice leadership to complete a variety of valuation engagements including enterprise, debt, equity, and intangible asset related valuations for private equity clients, alternative asset managers, Business Development Company (BDC) clients, privately held businesses, and publicly traded companies.

  • Perform business enterprise and debt valuation engagements for private equity and debt clients using standard valuation methodologies, including discounted cash flow, comparable transactions and comparable public companies

  • Analyze and evaluate portfolio company audit and reporting results, working capital and cash flow, evaluation of financial covenants, and other general financial analysis

  • Perform purchase price allocations for financial reporting and/or tax purposes under US GAAP

  • Analyze historical financial and operating results of target companies to explain business trends and identify risks

  • Analyze and challenge assumptions related to future financial projections

  • Assist in the development of discount rates (WACC)

  • Conduct financial statement analysis (e.g., common size analysis, ratio analysis, trend analysis, and industry comparative analysis)

  • Perform market/ industry research and develop industry growth estimates

  • Assist with preparation of valuation reports

What we are looking for in this role:
  • Pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or related field

  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0 or above preferred

  • Interest in pursuing advanced degree and/or certification (MBA, MS, ASA, ABV, CFA)

  • Strong Excel skills required, experience working with financial models is nice to have
