Job description

Title

Part-Time Delivery Driver

Reports To

Branch Store Manager

Working Hours

10:30AM to 4:00PM Monday through Friday, or as needed based on business needs


Job summary/Objective of Job

This position has the responsibility of loading, unloading, and delivering materials and goods from Valley Truck Parts to business or customer sites.


Summary of Essential Job Functions:

  • Load and unload materials and goods.
  • Deliver items to designated locations in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Ensure the safe and secure transport of all deliveries.
  • Maintain accurate delivery records.
  • Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance.
  • Provide excellent customer service during deliveries.
  • Document any vehicle issues, fuel intake, and maintenance in respective logs.
  • Handle the vehicle expertly and perform minor repairs and maintenance activities.
  • Conduct daily inspections and report any vehicle faults to management.
  • Be thoroughly aware of city roadways and efficiently read/interpret road maps.


Secondary Responsibilities:

  • Assist with inventory cycle counts and general warehouse support.
  • Support dispatch department with cleaning and organizational tasks.
  • Clean and maintain delivery vehicles.
  • Perform various other warehouse or office duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Must have a High School Diploma, or GED
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Must have a good driving record
  • Needs to have sound judgment and make quick decisions when amidst difficult situations (Example: bad weather)
