Job description


Valley Medical Group and The Valley Hospital seek an accomplished and visionary thoracic surgeon to serve as Director, Thoracic Surgery, at Valley-Mount Sinai Comprehensive Cancer Care.
The ideal candidate will combine technical excellence, including minimally invasive and robotic surgical skills, with compassion, professionalism, and a commitment to advancing the field through leadership, education, and clinical innovation in a dynamic and supportive environment.
Valley holds longstanding accreditation from the Commission on Cancer of the American College of Surgeons and has a strong regional reputation for excellence in multidisciplinary cancer care. The Director will collaborate with an outstanding team of pulmonologists, medical and radiation oncologists, radiologists, pathologists, and critical care specialists. The practice offers a broad case mix including lung cancer, esophageal cancer, mediastinal disease, and foregut disorders. Valley has a robust clinical trials infrastructure, and ongoing clinical trials for patients with thoracic diseases.
Responsibilities
This position includes serving as a faculty member in Valley's General Surgery Residency Program and Valley's Advanced GI Fellowship Program. Academic appointment to the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai of Mount Sinai is available for appropriate candidates.
Qualifications
  • MD or DO
  • Board eligible or certification in General Surgery and Thoracic Surgery
  • Existing or Eligibility for New Jersey Medical License, DEA and CDS required

The cancer center is in the Luckow Pavilion, directly across from our new, state-of-the-art hospital, and is home to Breast Surgery, Surgical Oncology, Gynecologic Oncology, Thoracic Surgery, Hematology/Oncology, and Radiation Oncology. The Luckow Pavilion also features ambulatory operating rooms, a modern infusion center, and a state-of-the-art radiation oncology facility.
