Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct individualized therapy sessions and comprehensive assessments to understand each client's unique needs.
  • Employ evidence-based therapeutic modalities, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), psychodynamic therapy, and solution-focused brief therapy, tailored to the specific goals of clients.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists, primary care physicians, and social workers, to ensure a holistic approach to client care.
  • Maintain up-to-date clinical documentation following ethical and legal standards using electronic medical record (EMR) software to track progress and improve treatment efficiency.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development through workshops and training opportunities to enhance clinical skills and stay current with mental health research.
Patient Population / Client Focus

The Licensed Mental Health Counselor will work primarily with adolescents, adults, and families facing various mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and substance use disorders. You will provide compassionate and individualized care to clients, many of whom come from marginalized communities and may face barriers to accessing traditional mental health services.

Qualifications
  • A master's or doctoral degree in Counseling, Psychology, or a related field is essential.
  • Active and unrestricted licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in the state of Florida.
