The Validation Engineer is responsible for planning, executing, monitoring, and reporting validation activities for automotive electronic systems and control modules.
The role involves creating and maintaining test plans, and specifications, coordinating testing activities, debugging validation issues, and ensuring all validation activities meet customer and internal quality standards.
The position requires strong technical, operational, and interpersonal skills, as the individual will function as the "eyes and ears" of Formel D on-site.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Coordination with project stakeholders for the planning, control and monitoring of test activities.
In your role, you represent the link between our customers and project teams and maintain a holistic overview of the current project status.
You react agilely to changes in the project and, if necessary, take measures to achieve the project goals, taking into account the customer's wishes.
You proactively participate in various committees and lead independently subject-specific meetings.
Thanks to your experience, you will be able to develop test specifications, implement and carry out the tests on various test instances, taking into account industry standards and regulations.
You will set timing schedules for chambers, testers, and validation resources and validate test benches with harnesses and samples.
Monitor testing progress, results and perform troubleshooting of test bench issues. Level 1 analysis and debugging activities.
Ensure all validation data is uploaded and analyzed by creating and maintaining validation reports, and updating DVPRs (Design Validation Planning and Reporting) with validation progress and identified issues using 5W2H methodology.
Maintain professional customer representation of Formel D at all times within the customer environment.
Qualification/Requirement:
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Automotive Engineering.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in an Automotive Supplier or OEM environment.
Knowledge of electronic components including microcontrollers, capacitors, and inductors.
Understanding of electronic communication protocols such as Ethernet, CAN, and LIN.
Experience executing tests using monitoring tools.
Experience working with Control Modules or ADAS systems.
Computer literacy with strong knowledge of the MS Office Suite.
Validation experience with knowledge of test and validation methods.
Strong organizational and coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
Demonstrated positive interpersonal skills with the flexibility and adaptability to collaborate with people at all organizational levels
Authorization to legally work in the US
Experience/Education:
Experience working inside supplier manufacturing facilities strongly preferred
Prior coordination, supervisory, or customer-facing experience preferred
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and reporting abilities.
Ability to work independently and within cross-functional teams.
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple validation activities simultaneously.
Environmental Requirements:
Must be able to lift, push, pull, and move product, equipment, and supplies up to fifty pounds
Must be able to work in an active manufacturing and production environment
Regularly stands, bends, lifts, and moves intermittently during shifts of 8+ hours
