What is a validation tester?

Validation Testers are professionals responsible for evaluating products, software, or systems to ensure they meet specified requirements and function correctly. They design and execute tests to identify defects or inconsistencies, document their findings, and collaborate with development teams to resolve issues. Validation Testers play a key role in quality assurance by ensuring products are reliable, compliant, and ready for release. Their work helps prevent faulty products from reaching customers and supports continuous improvement in the development process.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a validation tester?

To thrive as a Validation Tester, you need a strong understanding of software testing methodologies, attention to detail, and typically a degree in computer science or a related field. Familiarity with testing tools such as Selenium, JIRA, or TestRail, and knowledge of scripting languages or specific validation protocols are commonly required. Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, and effective communication skills help you excel when identifying issues and collaborating with development teams. These skills are crucial to ensure software meets quality standards, functions correctly, and delivers a reliable user experience.
