Job description

The Valet Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily valet operations to ensure a safe, efficient, and courteous experience for all guests and clients. This role includes supervising valet attendants, managing shift coverage, addressing customer concerns, and ensuring company policies and procedures are followed. We provide a free vehicle parking and retrieval service at the VA Medical Center for Military Veteran patients.

Shift: Monday-Friday: 10:00am-5:00pm

Location: Oscar G. Johnson VA Medical Center, 325 East H St, Iron Mountain, MI 49801

Hourly Rate: $15.91 | Health & Welfare Fringe Benefit: $5.09 (paid out to you)

**Your Health and Welfare Fringe Benefit will be paid to you in cash (not to exceed 40 hours per week). Your total hourly wage will be $21.00.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervisor, direct, and support valet attendants/drivers during assigned shifts.
  • Properly schedule valet team to stay within contracted hours on weekly basis.
  • Ensure timely, safe, and professional vehicle parking and retrieval services.
  • Assist in hiring, firing, and disciplinary actions of employees.
  • Maintain accurate records of vehicle keys, tickets, and valet logs.
  • Complete daily shift reports and incident documentation as required.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customer inquiries and resolve concerns professionally and promptly.
  • Enforce company safety and service standards, appearance guidelines, and operational procedures.
  • Perform access control responsibilities for the valet area.
  • Closely inspect all vehicles for any damage and record any findings on valet ticket.
  • Abide by all rules and regulations set by the Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
  • Communicate regularly with management regarding staffing, operational needs, and guest feedback.
  • Work closely with the Regional Manager.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Valet experience preferred, but not required.
  • Must have 1+ years management experience.
  • Must be able to work 40 hours a week M-F.
  • Technical capabilities and basic computer knowledge.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Applicant must have the ability to drive vehicles with automatic and manual transmissions.
  • Possess and maintain a valid state issued driver license.
  • Must pass and maintain a criminal background check and have a clean motor vehicle record.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.
  • Regularly work outdoors in inclement weather including rain, snow, heat and cold.
  • Strong customer service skill and be able to respond calmly and professionally when handling conflict.
  • Consistent attendance and reliability is a requirement.
  • Ability to understand and speak basic English in order to communicate with valet customers and co-workers.
  • Regularly stand for long periods (6-8 hours).
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
  • Must have the ability to work independently and within established guidelines, follow directions, and work well with others.

Experience Requirements

  • 1-year management experience.
  • 1-year experience driving manual and automatic transmissions.
  • Valet experience preferred, but not required.
