POSITION OVERVIEW

Were looking for a reliable and experienced Maintenance Technician who takes pride in what they do and has a solid working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC, appliances, and preventative maintenance. This is a Part or Full-Time role, reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor. Working hours may range between 8 am and 6 pm on weekdays and occasionally Sundays between 10 am and 5 pm; this position also requires scheduled on-call availability. We make reasonable accommodations to work with personal schedules. This is an Hourly, Independent Contractor position.

MISSION

The mission of the Maintenance Technician is to preserve the working order and functionality of our vacation rental properties, performing repairs and making improvements when required. This important member of our team must be an excellent troubleshooter with a practical mind and strong attention to detail.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Maintenance Technician will have the following primary responsibilities:

  • Survey properties regularly to identify new or potential repairs required
  • Perform preventative maintenance and general upkeep (tighten furniture, change furnace filters, replace light bulbs, pest control, groundskeeping, etc.)
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical, including circuit breakers,switches, outlets, light fixtures, ceiling fans
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair plumbing, including faucets, sinks, toilets
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC systems
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and occasionally install appliances
  • Basic drywall repair and patching, interior,and exterior painting
  • Inspect safety systems (fire, carbon monoxide detector, security cameras, alarm system, etc.) and schedule repairs or services when needed
  • Hot tub cleaning, testing, and maintenance(training provided)
  • Troubleshoot wifi, door lock, or other smart home devices

Self-driven: Most days you will be highly independent, investigating and repairing a wide range of issues. You must be able to collaborate well with a team yet be comfortable and confident working alone.


Excellence and Ownership: You have a passion to fix things and prefer to do it right the first time. You also take ownership of your work, whether it is a special project or a mundane task (there will be a mix of both).

Open Communication: You will work closely with the COO and Maintenance Supervisor to ensure our properties are in tip-top shape while minimizing any inconvenience to our guests. This will require open, consistent, and responsive communication.


Tech Smart: You are not intimidated by new or unfamiliar technology and can get up to speed quickly. We use the following apps regularly for team communication and task tracking: Slack, Voxer, and ClickUp (instructions and training provided). A Smartphone is required.


Physically fit: You are agile and able to perform physical duties that require standing or sitting for an extended amount of time. You can easily climb stairs, bend, squat, kneel, twist, and can lift 100 lbs. You have good hearing and eyesight.


REQUIREMENTS:
2+ years of residential property maintenance experience

Have your own basic toolsand working knowledge of how to use them

Able to read technical manuals and drawings

Available for scheduled on-call shifts

Valid drivers license, dependable vehicle, and proof of insurance

Smartphone with the latest operating system

High School diploma or equivalent

No criminal history
