Job description

Logistics Coordinator Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate requests for shipments with carrier dispatchers, other divisions or suppliers

  • Resolve operational failures (with carriers or division coordinators) and deliver on-time freights

  • Enter/ update data in the Transportation Management System

  • Manage order execution, on-line bids and contracts; manage transportation costs

  • Execute daily plans, assign carriers, track and trace activities

  • Execute shipment requests by purchasing staff

Logistics Coordinator Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent logistics experience required; Supply Chain degree preferred
  • Must have thorough experience with electronic execution of order management and consolidation
  • Experience with carrier selection to include rating; routing and assignment; tender, tracking and tracing activities; on-line bid and contract management on a transportation system
  • Transportation Management Systems (TMS) experience
  • Account management experience with a 3rd party logistics background preferred
  • Proficient experience with Word and Excel; strong accurate typing
  • Strong math skills
