Job Description

Role Summary:  


Senior Developer for asset management organization - develop and direct the delivery of software programs including design, build and test in various software technologies, application programs for Trading and Portfolio Management applications. Will also support these mission critical systems and applications on a daily basis and troubleshoot production problems. 


Responsibilities:


Leverage in depth knowledge of multiple (new and emerging) technologies to design and implement strategic technical solutions in accordance with business needs

Deliver innovate designs of high complexity which allow building a scalable end to end architecture

Accountable for providing estimates and logical work plan to deliver applications on time and within budget that meets or exceeds quality standards 

Create the software's architecture and/or employ rapid application development tools

Interpret written business requirements, functional requirements and technical specification documents to design and develop technical solutions that meet business needs

Collaborate with IT and Business partners to design, develop, and troubleshoot end to end technical solutions

Contribute to design review meetings with other members of Application Development

Perform complex defect verification, debugging, testing and support 

Investigate, analyze and document reported defects

Create and maintain technical documentation using defined technical documentation templates that meet SDLC standards



Qualifications

Required Qualifications:


1. Strong Apache Camel/Linux Redhat FUSE and JEE experience. The person needs to have at least 4-5 years of Camel/Redhat FUSE, working on several complex Camel projects directly working on setting up Camel routes, implementing the solution in a JEE/J2EE container. This is a mandatory requirement.

2. Experience with the following JEE technologies and related libraries - JDBC/Hibernate, JMS, Spring (JBOSS Application Server experience preferred)

3. Experience with UNIX environment 

a. Commands and utilities, some monitoring and tuning.

b. Ability to develop shell scripts or other scripts (such as perl/python) for data processing, job execution and monitoring.

4. Familiarity with Development tools (Eclipse, Netbeans etc.), design/UML tools, profiling/tuning tools, build/deploy tools (ANT/Maven) etc. 

5. Understanding of enterprise architecture and operational procedures such as availability, recovery, archiving etc.

6. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Experience communicating with senior investment professionals such as traders and portfolio managers.


Preferred Qualifications:


1. Experience with Vaadin Framework a strong plus

2. Understanding of equity trading and portfolio management systems helpful

a. Familiarity with order management, crossing, portfolio construction, reference data/market data etc.

b. Understanding of the FIX protocol

3. Other Skills - 

a. Very hands on, will be designing, coding and unit testing most of the time

b. Strong analytical aptitude

c. Willingness to be part of rotational support schedule and other operational activities

d. Attention to detail and ability to write quality technical documents
