User Experience Internship
Summer 2027- May 17th through August 13th
Location: Fort Wayne, IN
Level: Intern
Division / Department: Information Technology
Reporting to position: Sr User Experience Designer
About the Role:
We're seeking a motivated and curious User Experience Intern to support our user experience team in improving digital tools and onboarding experiences for our members. This internship is ideal for someone passionate about design thinking, user-centered design, and improving how users interact with complex systems.
Youโ€™ll work on meaningful projects including journey mapping, interface design, and information architecture auditsโ€”contributing directly to the improvement of tools used by thousands of member stores.
This is a temporary position beginning in May 2027 and ending in August 2027. This internship is paid on an hourly basis.
No relocation is offered, candidates must be local to the Fort Wayne, Indiana area for the Summer 2027 timeframe.
The Intern may also be able to use this opportunity towards university/college credit.
Responsibilities include:
  • Shadowing and supporting UX research activities (e.g., usability testing, stakeholder interviews, heuristic evaluations)
  • Assisting with design creation and interface refinements in Figma (e.g., wireframes and high-fidelity prototypes)
  • Organizing and updating journey maps and other design artifacts in Miro
  • Analyzing system navigation and structure to recommend improvements of information architecture
  • Preparing documentation and presentations to share findings with the UX and development teams
Education and Experience:
  • Currently pursuing a degree in UX Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Interaction Design, Graphic Design, Anthropology, or a related field
Skills and Abilities:
  • Experience with design and collaboration tools such as Figma, Miro, or similar (coursework or project-based)
  • Familiarity with UX research methods and usability principles
  • Strong analytical and visual communication skills
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment
