Miltec UV provides global leadership in over 30 diverse manufacturing market segments by providing custom-designed UV Curing systems as well as UV replacement parts and UV lamps for Miltec and various other OEM systems. Miltec is uniquely positioned as one of the only UV equipment manufacturers in the world that designs and produces arc lamp and microwave powered UV curing systems.
Miltec UV has an immediate opportunity for a creative, hands-on Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Stevensville, Maryland.

Job Summary:
Design, develop, and qualify electromechanical components and sub-assemblies used in UV Curing systems. Works with reasonable independence at the sub-assembly or system level.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Design, develop, and qualify UV Curing equipment (components, products, systems) based on customer requirements.
  • Apply engineering fundamentals to solve complex mechanical design problems.
  • Develop product requirements documents (PRD) based on input from Customers, Sales, Manufacturing, Field Service, and Process Engineering.
  • Assist Custom Projects Engineering Manager in documenting and releasing designs as directed.
  • Prepare and execute test plans to validate product performance.
  • Coordinate and direct the creation of all documentation required to support the project.
  • Work with electrical and software engineers as required to develop machine control systems.
  • Use industry-standard guidelines to develop sheet metal, machined, extruded, cast, welded, molded, chemically machined, and thermoformed components which result in cost-competitive products that meet our customer's requirements.
  • Work closely with Purchasing, Manufacturing, and Field Service to facilitate the production, testing, and commissioning of UV Curing equipment.
  • Familiarity with project management and target profit margins.
  • Travel as required (approximately 10% domestic and 5% international)
  • Other duties as assigned
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • BSME degree and 3-5 years of pertinent experience in custom equipment manufacturing/systems integration.
  • Experience in electro-mechanical packaging.
  • Demonstrated design creativity and the ability to operate independently and lead product development efforts.
  • Proficient in 3D CADD software (SolidWorks preferred) to create models and documentation.
  • Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Project Management software.
  • Able to lift 30 lbs., install subsystems into process equipment, and make adjustments within equipment
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), as well as presentation skills.
  • Must be able to quickly adapt in response to fast-changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Must have a working knowledge of electrical and electronic systems - knowledge of optical systems is a plus!
