Job description

What you will do:

The Clarios Advanced Energy Storage Software Team is searching for an individual interested in contributing on a team tasked with developing new energy storage technology for vehicles of the future. We are searching for an experienced Software Requirements Engineer who will join our team to elicit, negotiate, document, track and control software requirements for advanced battery systems. This individual should be highly motivated and ready to contribute to the success of the team.

How you will do it:
  • Review customer specifications to identify requirements relevant to battery management software
  • Support creation and review of System Requirements and System Architecture
  • Collaborate with Systems, Modeling, and Hardware Engineering to develop algorithms and diagnostics
  • Lead the development of the Software Requirements Specification (SRS) including authoring and reviews
  • Manage the traceability of software requirements through the software development process
  • Participate in the definition and review of Software Architecture designs
  • Participate in the establishment of standardized common software modules
  • Review Software Test Plans for completeness and relevance to verification of requirements
  • Support creation of the Software Development Plan, especially requirements management plans
  • Interface and provide direction to the extended software team including software suppliers
  • Manage work packages using configuration management and issue tracking tools
  • Execute the software development process and make improvements to process and infrastructure
  • Participate in cross-functional project planning and review events
  • Assess proposed features and perform impact analysis as a member of the SW Change Control Board
What we look for:

Required:

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in embedded systems software development for safety-critical systems

Preferred:

  • Experience with ASPICE software development processes
  • Experience with product development per functional safety and security goals (e.g. ISO-26262, ISO-21434)
  • Experience with software architectural design including UML
  • Experience with AUTOSAR authoring tools such as Vector DaVinci
  • Experience with Model-based Code Generation tools such as MathWorks Coder and dSPACE TargetLink
  • Experience with unit verification tools such as QAC and Cantata
  • Experience tracking metrics such as resource utilization and memory usage
  • Experience with Vector testing tools such as CANoe, CANape, and CANalyze
