This brand-new location will deliver integrated services including primary care, behavioral health, pregnancy care, and dental, bringing comprehensive, patient-centered care to meet growing community needs. Position Summary:
Working independently and interdependently with other HealthPoint providers; responsible for pre-, post- and intrapartum care for low to moderate risk patients, as well as family planning, gynecological problem visits, annual preventive care, and lactation. Provides full scope midwifery care in ambulatory, community, and inpatient settings.
Compensation is dependent on skills and experience.
Your contribution to the team includes:
  • Assess patient needs for specialty referrals, diagnostic, and in-patient care consistent with evidence-based, trauma informed, culturally appropriate care consistent with midwifery standards.
  • Provide patients and family members with counseling and education regarding health maintenance, disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and the need for follow-up as appropriate during each patient visit. Verify and document that the patient understands the diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up recommendations.
  • Responsible for accurate, timely, and complete documentation in patient records and superbills.
  • Work in collaboration with midwife colleagues and FP w/ OBs to ensure intrapartum clinical practice is closely aligned.
  • Provide inpatient care to include prenatal, intrapartum, post-partum, and newborn care, with appropriate training.
  • Participate in shared call system, including OB call, with other providers.
  • Administer medications and perform minor outpatient procedures in accordance with HealthPoint credentialing policy.
  • Provide consultation to other clinic providers and collaborate with outside specialists for consultation referrals, and comanaging care.
  • Assist with meeting clinic patient care team productivity and quality care standards while valuing, listening, building authentic and trusting relationships with the community and patients.
  • Participate in the development and utilization of HealthPoint practice guidelines and procedures, and participate in audits and meet standards of HealthPoint Quality Improvement, Risk Management, and Utilization Management programs.

  • Maintain good attendance, is punctual and works full scheduled shift is a condition of employment.

  • Maintain credentials essential for practice, to include licensure, board certification, society memberships and hospital specific requirements for credentialing.
  • Precept students and MD/DO residents.
  • Attend staff meetings, in-service meetings and participate in agency committees and task force activities as required.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Must have's you'll need to be successful:
  • Graduate from a Midwifery Education Accreditation Council-approved midwifery program.
  • ARNP (Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner). Board certified or board eligible by the American Midwifery Certification Board (ACMB). Maintain current registration/licensure as an ARNP in the state of Washington.
  • Experience providing midwifery care, with expected volume, to demonstrate competency in core aspects of care.
  • Comfort with patient centered, non-judgmental options counseling.
  • Trained in basic ultrasound and providing group-based care.
  • Demonstrated operating knowledge of computers. Intermediate level ability with Word, Outlook, and other required software programs.

If you know about the following it's a plus:
  • Experience as surgical first assist. Facile with IUD/Nexplanon insertions and removals.
  • Demonstrated skill in basic ultrasound such as first trimester dating and viability, IUD placement, and fetal positioning in third trimester. Skill in providing comprehensive lactation services. Experience precepting midwifery students and MD/DO residents. Experience providing newborn care.
  • Skilled in facilitating groups. Experience working with refugees. Experience working skillfully with interpreters. Fluency in a language other than English.

Proof of vaccination for COVID-19 is required, prior to start. HealthPoint does not accept the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine as proof of vaccination. If you have received the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, we ask that you provide documentation demonstrating proof of an alternate COVID vaccine or vaccine series. All new employees are also required to show proof of immunizations and/or immunity to MMR (measles, mumps, rubella), Varicella, annual Influenza and TB QuantiFERON Gold Titer. Additionally, if you work in a HealthPoint clinic, Tdap (within last 10 years) is required. Hepatitis B. is required for clinical employees with potential exposure to blood/blood products. All immunizations are a condition of employment. Upon hire, employees must provide proof of their immunizations and/or immune titer results prior to starting or no later than their fifth (5) business day of employment.

If you receive vaccination(s) or lab titers, you may obtain them through HealthPoint at no cost to you.
