Utility Supervisor Jobs (NOW HIRING)

We are looking for a reliable and experienced Utility Supervisor to perform a variety of cleaning and utility duties to ensure a clean, safe, and orderly environment across assigned facilities. This role plays a critical part inmaintainingthe overall appearance and sanitation of the workplace, contributing to a positive experience for employees, clients, and visitors.

Pay: $28.00 per hour 

The pay listed is the hourly range or the hourly rate for this position.   A specific offer will vary based on applicant's experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, and alignment with market data.

Schedule: Wednesday - Sunday 8:00am - 4:30pm

• Previous experience in commercial janitorial, facilities maintenance, event operations or a related position.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to safely use common hand tools.
• Ability to follow written work orders, equipment instructions and safety procedures.
• Ability to work collaboratively with Engineering, Janitorial, Security and Events personnel.
• Ability to lift and move event equipment and supplies, with a suggested requirement of up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work on ladders and remain standing or walking for extended periods.
• Basic ability to document work using a mobile device or computerized work-order system.
• Required safety and equipment training provided before independently performing assigned tasks
• Ability to work holidays as needed

Event setup and teardown

• Assist Engineering and Janitorial personnel with event setup and teardown.
• Move and arrange tables, chairs, waste containers, floor-protection materials, stanchions and other event equipment.
• Assist with placement and removal of janitorial supplies and event-cleaning stations.
• Support pre-event inspections and help prepare event spaces for occupancy.
• Assist with post-event cleanup and restoration of spaces to their standard configuration.
• Remove waste, recycling and event-related debris.
• Respond to spills, overflowing waste containers and other immediate cleaning needs during events.
• Assist event porters and provide ongoing cleaning support during events.
• Report property damage, safety hazards and maintenance concerns identified during setup, operation or teardown.
• Coordinate work with Engineering, Janitorial, Security and Event Management personnel.

Light-maintenance duties

• Replace batteries in dispensers, soap and hand towels dispensers, locks, sensors and other approved building devices.
• Perform minor painting and touch-up work.
• Replace HVAC filters under the direction of Engineering personnel.
• Perform basic sink and toilet repairs, including replacing solenoids, diaphragm, sensors, supply hoses, aerators and other minor components.
• Make minor adjustments to doors, cabinet hardware, dispensers and similar facility components.
• Replace light bulbs and approved plug-and-play lamps that do not require modification of electrical wiring or fixtures.
• Use a non-contact voltage detector to identify the possible presence of voltage at approved outlets or devices for preliminary troubleshooting only.
• Reset an accessible circuit breaker when authorized and when the cause of the trip has been evaluated. Repeatedly tripping breakers must be reported to Engineering and shall not be repeatedly reset.
• Make approved space-temperature adjustments using local thermostats or authorized building controls within established operating limits.
• Assist an engineer with maintenance, inspections, material handling and repairs when working under the engineer's direct direction.
• Deliver tools, filters, parts, ladders and other materials to work areas.
• Perform visual inspections and report leaks, unusual noises, damaged equipment, lighting outages and temperature complaints.
• Create, update and close assigned work orders in Prism, including documenting completed work and identified deficiencies.

Janitorial and utility duties

• Complete assigned janitorial utility projects and periodic cleaning assignments.
• Assist event porters with cleaning and restocking during events.
• Assist with detailed pre-event and post-event cleaning.
• Clean spills and respond to urgent housekeeping needs.
• Remove trash and recycling and transport materials to designated collection areas.
• Clean and maintain service corridors, loading areas, storage spaces and other assigned support areas.
• Assist with restroom cleaning, restocking and inspection during periods of high use.
• Perform floor-care support, including spot cleaning and use of approved equipment when properly trained.
• Move janitorial supplies, equipment and consumable materials.
• Support seasonal or project-based cleaning work.
• Report damaged fixtures, plumbing leaks, unsafe conditions and supply shortages.
