Utility Person - JLLWhat this job involves:

As a Utility Person at JLL, you will play an essential role in maintaining operational excellence for our client's manufacturing facility in Brookville, OH. This hands-on position combines industrial maintenance support with facilities upkeep, ensuring production equipment operates efficiently while maintaining a safe, clean work environment. Working closely with the Facility Manager, you will provide critical support across multiple areas including industrial machine cleaning, waste management, light building maintenance, and inventory assistance. Your contributions directly impact production continuity and workplace safety, making this role vital to our client's daily operations and long-term success.

What your day-to-day will look like:
  • Perform industrial machine cleaning including pump out and honing of machinery, machine filter changes, and proper disposal of production waste in compliance with plant processes
  • Operate maintenance and cleaning equipment including floor scrubbers, forklifts, pallet jacks, and industrial vacuum systems to maintain facility cleanliness and organization standards
  • Assist the Facility Manager with light building maintenance tasks including carpentry, painting, plumbing, and general cleaning as needed or requested
  • Collect and properly dispose of production waste, machine chips, filters, and recycling materials according to site standards and environmental compliance requirements
  • Provide support for parts and maintenance inventory supplies required for Facilities, Maintenance, and Production Departments
  • Preserve safe and clean work environments by following workplace organization standards and safety procedures while maintaining professionalism under various situations
  • Execute facility-specific assistance and other general facilities support as requested by the Facility Manager to meet team goals and objectives
Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in facility maintenance, warehouse operations, or production support environments
  • Demonstrated experience operating forklifts and other mobile equipment with proper safety protocols
  • Knowledge and ability to comply with facility standards, safety procedures, and regulatory requirements
  • Physical ability to lift, push, pull, or carry objects up to 25+ pounds and perform extended periods of bending, stretching, twisting, and reaching
  • Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision while maintaining attention to detail and quality standards
  • Superior customer service skills with ability to maintain professionalism during stressful situations
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in manufacturing or industrial environments with knowledge of production waste management processes
  • Familiarity with facility maintenance tools, cleaning equipment, and basic building maintenance techniques
  • Basic knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, or painting that can be developed through on-the-job training
  • Experience with inventory management and parts handling in industrial settings
  • Ability to multitask effectively and prioritize work assignments based on operational needs
  • Strong communication skills and collaborative approach to working with cross-functional teams
  • High School diploma or equivalent
