Job description

Classification: Business Analyst Work Hours: 40+ hours / week: M - F About KUB: KUB is one of the largest public utilities in the country providing safe, reliable, and affordable electric, gas, water, wastewater, and fiber services to more than 520,000 customers in Knoxville and parts of seven surrounding counties. About the Role: The Key Accounts team is responsible for developing, maintaining, and managing relationships with KUB's largest commercial and industrial customers.

The team serves as the primary liaison between KUB and its key customers, providing a high level of specialized customer service. This role will support the team's efforts and KUB's largest customers by ensuring accurate billing, addressing account issues, and providing data-driven recommendations to improve processes and service. Regular duties include reviewing customer utility accounts, calculating customer utility bills, performing rate comparisons, performing economic analysis, managing contracts and programs, producing and maintaining process documentation, developing reports and presentations, preparing supporting materials for internal and external engagements, performing budgetary tasks, and assisting with projects and initiatives.

The individual in this role will work cooperatively with a variety of internal and external groups, including KUB management, to identify, analyze, and resolve problems. Qualifications Physical Requirements: This position is primarily sedentary and performed in a typical office environment. Duties involve sitting most of the time with occasional walking or standing.

The role may require occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling of items up to 10 pounds. Bending, stooping, or reaching may occasionally be required. Physical demands may vary by position and may occasionally exceed those described above.

Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution with a preferred major in Accounting/Finance, Business/Data Analytics, Engineering, Technology, or another technical or business-related field One (1) to three (3) years of experience in rate analysis, account analysis, and/or financial analysis, ideally within the utility or energy industry Ability to interpret and analyze interval data and complicated rate schedules for large commercial and industrial customers Demonstrate strong analytical, technical, project management, problem solving, and organizational skills Ability to work independently or in a team environment to complete projects in a timely manner Experience in contract management and process documentation Understanding of SQL basics and Power BI; proficiency in database management, Microsoft Office Have and maintain a valid driver's license Please note that due to job responsibilities, KUB does not provide immigration sponsorship for and/or based on this position.
