Meyer Utility Structures is searching for a Purchasing Manager who will be an integral part of the Business Unit Supply Chain team, responsible for driving both near-term execution and long-term strategic objectives. This role will focus on leading buyer performance, strengthening supplier partnerships, and advancing sourcing and continuous improvement initiatives to achieve supply chain goals. The position will collaborate cross-functionally with multiple departments and plant locations to support Meyer Utility Structures’ continued growth.

Meyer Utility Structures is an industry leader in the engineering design and fabrication of concrete and tubular steel structures for transmission, distribution, and substation applications. With over sixty years of innovative engineering and manufacturing expertise, Meyer has helped to author and validate many of today’s transmission industry standards and specifications.

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Monitor and drive buyer performance, ensuring alignment with contract requirements and progress toward supply chain objectives
  • Prioritize and coordinate critical supply needs when maintenance, operations, or customer commitments are at risk
  • Develop and maintain strong, strategic supplier relationships to support long-term sourcing success
  • Establish and oversee supplier performance metrics, including leading proactive supplier audits and accountability initiatives
  • Support new item setup by validating availability, lead times, and target pricing
  • Partner with Plants, Materials Managers, Maintenance, Operations, and Finance to identify recurring needs, constraints, and improvement opportunities
  • Lead sourcing strategies to reduce total cost, improve lead times, consolidate vendor base, and standardize materials and services
  • Identify, escalate, and resolve buyer, supplier, and process-related issues to ensure continuity of supply and operational efficiency

What You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Supply Chain Management or related field preferred
  • 7+ years of experience in supply chain, procurement, or related business function
  • Strong attention to detail with a process-driven mindset and commitment to continuous improvement
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively across functions and geographies, including the U.S. and Mexico
  • Solid understanding of business process analysis and optimization
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with Power BI strongly preferred
  • Experience working within ERP systems
