Description

BETA is seeking for an experienced Senior Potable Water and Wastewater Project Engineer to join our team. The position will interact with a multi-disciplinary team of professionals in the New England area and will provide leadership and client development specifically in potable water and wastewater engineering, construction management, civil infrastructure design, and permitting. ย This team of professionals comes together to create innovated planning and design solutions for our public-sector clients' water treatment, distribution, and storage infrastructure while also providing the same service for their wastewater treatment and collection infrastructure to improve the overall condition and increase reliability of these systems. ย In addition, this position will play a key role in the continued growth of our firm. Ideal candidate will be able to work with project managers; and an established team of professionals to develop projects from conceptual to final design, preparation of technical designs, contract plans and documents, and executing client management activities.ย 


Responsibilities:

  • Perform, manage, and oversee engineering design on a variety of potable water and wastewater treatment, conveyance, and distribution
  • Lead technical design on concurrent projects
  • Perform detailed engineering design, review and prepare plans, technical specifications and Contract documents for constructionย 
  • Provide responsive client service through strong and expeditious communication
  • Mentor junior staff to enhance their knowledge
  • Perform business development and manage project pursuits
  • Attend and present at client and public meetingsย

Preferred location is BETA's Lincoln office. Candidates should have flexibility to work from our other office locations. BETA also offers a hybrid work schedule, allowing employees to request working remotely up to 2 days per week.ย

Requirements

Required Experience/Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering
  • Professional Engineer license required
  • 8 to 15 years of related engineering experience in potable water, wastewater, and stormwater projects
  • Demonstrated strong background in environmental engineering and modeling ย 
  • Proficient with AutoCAD, modeling, and GIS softwareย 
  • Must be able to collect field data and measurements; and perform asset inspections for potable water and wastewater infrastructure, in addition to roadway and other utility assets ย 
  • Must be able to lift/move objects weighing up to 40 pounds
  • Must be able to perform field work in both hot and cold weather (rain and/or snow)ย 
  • Must be able to stand or sit for long periods of timeย 
  • Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportationย
