HOW WILL YOU HELP DRIVE THE FUTURE OF NATURAL GAS?
  • Provides oversight, support, analysis, and implementation of systems, projects and programs related to technology, operational efficiencies, revenue generation, and operations support for Measurement & Regulation Services, which monitors the Company's pipeline and distribution system in Florida.
  • Maintains and supports the department's technology infrastructure. The technology infrastructure includes control systems, data telecommunications, networks, hardware (RTU's, servers, workstations), systems software (iFix, Matrikon ProcessNet SCADA, Metretek, and GUI applications, SQL, Access, and various web-based applications, GL Essentials, PragmaCad), systems management tools, utilities and the associated processes to maintain the technical infrastructure operations and components.
  • Additionally, oversees Gas Operations, I/C and Compressor Technicians in their maintenance, repairs and calibration of the Company's gas measurement equipment, including odorizers, CNG trailers, compressor stations, large meter sets , meter indexes, correctors, industrial AMR devices and SCADA equipment.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
  • High School diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • A minimum of ten (10) years of experience in Gas Transmission/Distribution system engineering, design, operations, and maintenance; Experience providing functional guidance and/or leadership to operations staff.
  • Strong working knowledge of State and Federal regulations and D.O.T. requirements relative to natural gas operations.
  • Must have an understanding of maintenance, repairs and calibration tasks on the Company's gas measurement equipment, including large meter sets, meter indexes, correctors, industrial AMR devices and SCADA equipment, electrical and electronic principles, codes and regulations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and solve problems logically, multi-task, establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and customers and to effectively organize and maintain files and records.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develops, implements, and maintains operational equipment and SCADA system functionality and associated analytical tools. Monitors SCADA and Metretek system functionality and data integrity and recommends/implements improvement opportunities.
  • Plans, establishes, and implements budget/cost monitoring for Gas Operations "sub-area".
  • Manages alarms, dispatches I/C Technicians and determines the most appropriate course of action to resolve issues.
  • Develops and leads Gas Ops and Compressor Technicians using Company leadership programs such as Selection for Excellence, Training Programs, Performance Reviews and Positive Discipline. Creates and adjusts work schedules as needed, including vacations, holiday and emergency call-out.
  • Provides operational, technical, and analytical support to the Gas Operations team by managing the various systems including the PGS Essentials system.
  • Monitors pipeline inputs and tracks daily and monthly volumes for the various suppliers and industrial customers.
  • Has the ownership and responsibility for the daily scheduling and confirmation process of all nominations entered by our customers into the Company's Gas Management System.
  • Assists the Manager and Technicians with the operations, monitoring and troubleshooting of Company's telemetry equipment.

Incident Response Assignment
Our community relies on Peoples Gas to respond swiftly and effectively to all types of incidents, including but not limited to major storm events (e.g., extreme cold, tropical storms, hurricanes), gas leaks, equipment failures, environmental hazards, and other emergencies that may impact public safety or service continuity.
