The Hydaker- Wheatlake Company is currently seeking a full-time Director of Substation to join our growing team!Essential Job Functions:Provide strategic leadership for the Substation Division by driving operational excellence, employee development, and continuous improvement initiatives.Oversee all substation engineering, construction, maintenance, testing, and commissioning projects, ensuring they are completed safely, on time, within budget, and in accordance with quality standards.Lead and develop multidisciplinary teams while fostering a culture of safety, accountability, collaboration, and exceptional customer service.Manage departmental operations, budgets, project financial performance, resource allocation, and overall profitability.Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, contractors, consultants, and utility partners while supporting business development and company growth initiatives.Ensure compliance with all applicable safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies, while promoting a safety-first culture throughout the organization.Collaborate with executive leadership and cross-functional teams to support strategic planning, workforce development, and the successful execution of complex projects.Qualifications:10+ years of progressive experience in substation engineering, construction, or utility operations.5+ years of leadership experience managing teams and large-scale utility projects.Experience managing multimillion-dollar capital projects.
