Day Shift

Wages starting at $23.00/hr. for entry level candidates. Some positions require no experience and Rogers Group will train. 

MidSouth Stone is a limestone mine/quarry seeking a surface General Utility Person for our operation located in Hopkinsville, KY. We offer a competitive pay with health, dental, vision, 401K, short term disability, long term disability and life insurance benefits. We also offer a variety of safety equipment, paid holidays, and paid vacations. 

The successful candidate for this role will have an uncompromising emphasis on safety excellence, be a self-starter and will have responsibilities that include but are not limited to:

  • General plant/mine labor and clean-up of production areas, including shoveling stone from around conveyors and assist with plant clean up and operations
  • Being trained in various other entry level production positions and filling in as needed during vacations, absences and increased production demand times
  • Operate equipment, including but not limited to: skid steer and loader. Experience is preferred.
  • Report equipment problems and identify them to management.
  • Light maintenance work and maintain the belt lines
  • Complete equipment pre-shift report - if applicable
  • Assist other workers as needed or directed and other duties as assigned by management

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Properly follow all company policies and regulations for safe working procedures and environment
  • Ability to maintain safe working conditions
  • Self-motivated individual, must be able to perform required duties without constant supervision
  • Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, dust, etc.).
  • Able to perform a variety of duties, some which may include plant clean-up, maintenance, operating equipment and other duties as assigned
  • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for extended periods of time throughout the workday, as required to perform essential job functions, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull materials or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular basis with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to learn quickly
  • Must be willing to work weekends and overtime
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen
