GridSource is looking for a Directional Bore Locator to join our fast-paced growing team in the Micanopy, FL area.

We have a full-time need for a Directional Bore Locator interested in building a long-term career in the underground telecommunications / Gas / cable industry interested in building a long-term career in the underground Utilities. The Job consists of day-to-day drilling and pullback of various sized conduits or pipe for outside plant. The work consists of new buildings, maintenance, and restoration in rural and metro areas.

What You'll Do

  • Locate underground utilities and monitor locating process during drilling
  • Read prints and demonstrate good judgment in the field
  • Work as a team in tandem with supervisor, manager and other crew members
  • Perform all duties adhering to company safety procedures and policies

What You'll Need

  • 3 years of experience with drilling and/or locating equipment.
  • 2 years of experience with Ditch Witch and Vermeer Drilling equipment (JT5 / D10x15).
  • Previous directional bore locating experience required
  • Local applicants preferred
  • Pre-employment testing includes MVR, drug screen, and background check
  • Must have an acceptable driving record and be legally authorized to work in the United States

Work Environment & Physical Demands:
The job involves occasional work near moving mechanical parts and requires outdoor work in all weather conditions year-round.

  • May be exposed to electrical shock, radiation, and vibration.
  • May work more than 40 hours per week & outside normal business hours as needed.
