All Positions are contingent on passing a background check.
The Individual Resource and Benefits Specialist include money management as a service and/or for whom Strive is representative payee. This includes providing training to individuals, ensuring that bills are paid, spending money is provided and accounts are reconciled. The Specialist conducts routine audits and ensures accuracy of accounts and benefits of individuals in residential homes and PCA. The Manager has primary responsibility for training Strive employees and host home providers in management of individual funds and in use of Personal Finance Transaction in Therap.
Requirements
  • Reliable and punctual attendance is essential; expected to be at job as scheduled each scheduled day.
  • Assists residential team, host homes, and individuals in opening and making deposits into the account including ensuring that benefits are transferred into the checking account if the individual has Strive as the representative payee. Assists individuals in developing a budget and provides other financial training as dictated by individual needs. Supports individual in paying rent, utilities and other bills and in making other purchases, including assistance with writing checks or using a debit card. Ensures availability of spending money within limits defined in SP. Records all transactions from individual accounts in Personal Finance Transaction in accordance with Strive procedures. Ensures that receipts, spending logs and budgeting forms are attached as appropriate. Reviews and reconciles accounts/balances checkbooks. Maintain checkbooks for individuals in a secure location, if requested by the individual. For individuals having Strive as the representative payee, works cooperatively with the residential and accounting teams to ensure that financial documentation is prepared for the SP.
  • Codes and inputs cash receipts and receivables invoices into accounting software.
  • Ensures that Medicaid, Medicare, Social Security deadlines are met in a timely manner.
  • Redetermination for Medicaid, Medicare, Social Security, and county are reviewed and followed up on/implemented in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Sorts documents from Medicaid, Medicare, Social Security, insurance, etc. and scans to network.
  • Collaborating with individuals, residential team, and host home providers in management of individual funds and use Personal Finance Transaction to maintain records of individual funds. Providing training with team members in the management of those funds.
  • Proficiency in Excel Skills
  • Develops/maintains knowledge of Strive policies, regulatory requirements and licensing standards particularly as they relate to management of individual funds and assures program compliance. Participates in surveys and audits by regulatory agencies.
