JOB TITLE: Utility Technician (Cable Crew)
DEPARTMENT: Mine Operations
LOCATION: Robinson Mine - Ruth, NV
PAY GRADE: N/A
POSITION REPORTS TO: Utility Supervisor
ROTATING SHIFT: Yes ◼ No ◻ (Day Shift Rotation)
NONEXEMPT ◼
Purpose & Scope of The Position:
Manage and maintain high voltage shovel cable and dewatering cable layout so it is protected from other equipment and damage and is consistent with the company's safety and environmental policies in an active mining environment. This includes established criteria for Cable Crew operations: pre-operational inspections, Proper cable placement and handling and efficiently operating equipment and on the ground in high traffic areas, all work must be completed in a safe and efficient manner while continuously aligning daily functions to reflect the company's values.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Follow safe work procedures and best practices.
  • Shovel Cable and Dewatering cable management.
  • Meet safety, environmental, attendance, and performance standards.
  • Manage flows and water levels in the pit as needed.
  • Assistance to build, repair, and maintain pipelines in and out of the pit.
  • Service and repair both diesel and electric pumps.
  • Effectively operating skills with cable realer, dozer, wheel loader, and track hoe.
  • Building and grounds maintenance including comfort stations.
  • Works effectively in a team and also alone.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Positive attitude and safe work habits.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic team environment with ever-changing conditions.
  • Punctuality and regular attendance required.
  • Planning work efficiently with or without a team.
  • Safety improvements.
  • Process efficiency to maximize production.
  • Willingness to perform other duties as necessary to ensure the success of KGHM.

Required Education, Work Experience & Training:
  • A valid Driver's License.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Education, Work Experience & Training:
  • Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
  • Previous pump and motor maintenance experience.
  • Previous heavy equipment experience.
  • Previous pipe fusing experience.

Technical Skills:
  • Good written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • General understanding of mechanical functions.
  • Basic knowledge of computer operation including Microsoft Excel.

  • Successful completion of a pre-employment physical, including drug and alcohol testing.
