Project Manager
About Us:
Parks Drilling Co. is a leading foundation drilling contractor specializing in drilled shafts for the electrical market. With a proven track record in high-quality foundation solutions, we are expanding our expertise in below-grade substation construction to support major utility and infrastructure projects.
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with a strong background in below-grade substation construction. The ideal candidate will oversee all aspects of project execution, from estimating and pre-construction planning to field operations and project closeout. This role requires technical expertise in deep foundations, drilled shafts, concrete placement, excavation, and structural coordination within substation environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Oversight & Execution:
  • Manage multiple below-grade substation/drilled shaft foundation projects, ensuring on-time and on-budget completion.
  • Lead all phases of project management, including bidding, planning, scheduling, execution, and closeout.
  • Develop and manage project budgets, cost tracking, and change orders.
  • Oversee deep foundation installations, concrete foundations, grounding grids, and below-grade electrical coordination.

Field Coordination & Safety:
  • Work closely with Superintendents, Foremen, and field crews to ensure efficient project execution.
  • Enforce safety compliance in accordance with company and industry regulations.
  • Conduct site visits, progress meetings, and inspections to monitor work quality and productivity.
  • Identify and mitigate site risks, including geotechnical challenges and environmental factors.

Client & Stakeholder Communication:
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for utility clients, engineers, and subcontractors.
  • Lead project meetings, progress reporting, and issue resolution.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and partners to drive business growth.

Qualifications & Experience:
  • 5+ years of project management experience in below-grade substation construction, deep foundations, or heavy civil infrastructure.
  • Strong knowledge of drilled shaft foundations, excavation, formwork, rebar placement, and concrete construction.
  • Experience managing utility projects and working within substation environments.
  • Proficiency in project management software (ComputerEase, Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, etc.).
  • Understanding of OSHA regulations, NESC standards, and utility construction best practices.
  • Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (preferred but not required).
