JOB SUMMARY:

This position reports to the Facilities Supervisor on shift. Responsible for the operation of equipment, environmental condition and appearance of the facility and grounds. Responsible for the cleanliness, maintenance and repair of the facility, equipment, and building. This position is a grade 4/$17.00 per hour.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Performs repairs and maintenance of the overall property and equipment within the facility.
  2. Repairs or reports equipment failures to supervisor, documenting all operational data and or information to ensure repairs are done in a timely manner.
  3. Responsible for cleanliness of kitchen areas, facility equipment, building and grounds.
  4. Performs general carpentry, floor repair, carpet repair, interior and exterior wall/ceiling finishings and repairs, and roof work.
  5. Completes and logs work orders and service call requests as assigned.
  6. Assists in clean-up of grounds, event set up, landscaping and snow removal as necessary.
  7. Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
  • Must have 1 year of experience in either a construction or maintenance field.
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License and be insurable by the Southern Ute Indian Tribe. 
  • Prior experience in one or more related fields; carpentry, paint, drywall, flooring, basic plumbing, and or basic electrical is required.
  • Must be able to work all shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must have an aptitude for leaning and growth, while demonstrating the ability to develop teamwork and follow instructions.
  • Must be organized and willing to gain and retain specific job knowledge in the appropriate fields.
  • Must have experience with the safe operation of hand and power tools.
  • Must be sensitive to cultural diversity in the workplace.
  • Must be physically capable of performing the duties outlined.  

REASONING ABILITY:

  • Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Must be able to read and comprehend written and verbal instructions, correspondence, and memos.
  • Must be able to deal with a wide variety of problematic situations and technical challenges.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Must be able to safely lift (with assistance) and move up to 100 pounds.
  • Must be able to sit, stand and walk for prolonged periods of time.
  • Must be able to occasionally climb, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • The individual will be required to have a full range of motion and adequate strength in the use of hands and arms.
  • The employee must have 20/20 vision (with corrective lenses).
  • Must be able to work with heights using lifts, ladders, and other equipment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Must be able to work in a cold or extreme heat environment.
  • Employee may be exposed to wet conditions and airborne particles that may be toxic or caustic.
  • Employee will be exposed to moving mechanical parts and electrical apparatuses that can cause electrical shock.
  • Must be able to constantly work under close surveillance cameras.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

  • Candidate selected for employment will be subject to pre-employment drug test, employment reference and background check.
  • Must obtain and maintain a Sky Ute Casino Resort Staff Badge.
  • Must comply fully with all Sky Ute Casino’s Policies and Procedures, Gaming Code Regulations and any applicable policies & regulations set forth by the Casino Resort.
