Job Description
The Nordstrom Hazardous Material program ensures inventory complies with DOT, IATA, EPA, and NFPA standards, while also pursuing regulatory exemptions to expand product offerings. We aim to provide top brands in our stores by balancing compliance and an inspiring shopping experience.
We seek a Program Mgr 1, HazMat Classification to lead initiatives that streamline hazmat shipment classification and issue resolution, enhance training integration, and improve cross-team communication. The candidate will support Supply Chain and Transportation functions, focusing on operational efficiency and compliance.
Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute strategies for hazardous material classification and cost reduction.
  • Act as SME for regulatory response and training improvements.
  • Collaborate across Supply Chain, Sourcing, Finance, Merchandising, and Inventory teams for effective training solutions.
  • Use metrics to assess deliverable impact.
  • Provide clear communication and updates at all levels.
  • Oversee annual shipping box testing and audits for compliance.
  • Work with transportation managers to update hazmat shipping guidance.
  • Manage ad hoc hazardous classification projects.

Qualifications:
  • 5+ years in transportation/supply chain.
  • Familiarity with PHMSA, USPS, IATA, EPA, ADR regulations.
  • Skilled in MS Office Suite, Confluence, SharePoint; advanced Excel/Tableau.
  • Experience applying transportation regulations for dangerous goods.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Able to work independently and within teams.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% annually.

$87,500.00 - $145,500.00 Annual
