Job description

Post Office Clerk - VillageWalk of Bonita - Residents Only

Provide a professional and competent image to provide residents with friendly and outgoing customer service. As a key employee liaison between all guests of the community and the residents, the post office clerk must be familiar with using computer software to perform various tasks, and must demonstrate organizational skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and strong communication.

Duties and essential functions:

  • Greet all guests in a standing upright position as they enter the facility maintaining the highest quality of customer service.
  • Coordinate with USPS employees for processing all mail and packages.
  • Assist customers with all mail deliveries and shipping needs, including but not limited to forwarding paperwork, new owner paperwork, priority services, and delivery options.
  • Utilize proper phone etiquette for all incoming and outgoing phone calls made to residents. All calls should be clear and in a professional manner.
  • Write reports of daily activities and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences.
  • Report any and all maintenance items which include, but is not limited to, burned out lights, leaks, broken equipment to the Association office daily.
  • Place orders with USPS for materials in a timely manner.
  • Maintain a neat and clean environment in the PO lobby and behind the service desk.
  • Complete daily opening and closing processes in addition to USPS reporting requirements.

Work environment:

This job operates within a residential community, inside an office. Low to moderate noise level in the workplace.

Physical demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee will be required lift objects up to 30 lbs. The employee is occasionally required to sit, stand, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, push and pull items weighing 30 pounds or less. The position requires manual dexterity; auditory and visual skills; and the ability to follow written and oral instructions and procedures.

Position type/expected hours of work:

The position is part time. Days and hours of work will be determined at the property/location. This schedule may change to accommodate the business needs of the property.

Required education and experience:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel skills
  • High school diploma or GED; some college preferred
  • Must be able to work with a diverse group of people and must have a friendly attitude which focuses on customer service.

Position supervision:

Employee reports directly to the General Manager and/or Assistant General Manager of the community.
