Job Description

What You Get To Do:

Provide a detail-oriented, focused, productive and team-oriented perspective. Be ready to join the Shipping and Receiving team as a full-time Distribution Center Assistant to support a variety of warehousing services and activities. You will be primarily responsible for picking and packing according to our established procedures and metrics.

We are looking to hire a Full-Time Distribution Center Assistant I. The core hours for this position will be Monday - Friday, 8:30AM - 5:00 PM. The pay is $20.50/hour.

Challenge Yourself - The Specifics:

  • Picking and packing of sales orders
  • Assists in unloading containers and sorting inbound shipments
  • Order processing and shipping
  • Completes lite manufacturing / work orders as assigned
  • Assists with inventory control
  • Performs daily Cycle Count
  • Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures, utilizing all required safety equipment
  • Maintains work area in a secure, clean, neat, and orderly condition which may include sweeping, and dusting
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications

You Have a Unique Combination of Skills, Talents and Mindset, Including Many of the Following:

  • GED or equivalent combination of experience and training
  • Exposure or experience in a distribution center or warehousing experience
  • Previous experience with MS Office (Word, Excel), FedEx, UPS and USPS systems are helpful
  • Knowledge or interest in learning warehouse practices and procedures, inventory control, common carrier and shipping procedures and documentation, standard safety practices, record keeping and filing
  • Knowledge of or interest in lighting technology or industry
  • Ability to organize, stock and issue supplies and equipment
  • Ability to effectively communicate (verbal and writing)
  • Must have excellent attention to detail for accuracy, be driven, goal-oriented, and work well with limited supervision
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand, sit, bend, stoop, kneel and reach to perform work for extended periods of time
