Job description

The United States Naval Academy Alumni Association and Foundation (USNA AAF) in Annapolis, Maryland is seeking a full-time, exempt Data SQL Integrity Specialist to join our Information Services (IS) team. The IS organization serves both the Alumni Association and the Naval Academy Foundation (Development and Athletic and Scholarship Divisions). In this capacity, the IS team serves as a "shared arm" of the enterprise.

This exempt position has a salary range of $49,600 through $62,000.

This position pays a competitive salary commensurate with experience and is also eligible for an annual performance-based bonus of up to 6%, when applicable. You would also be eligible for a generous benefits plan which includes medical, dental, vision, an FSA, an HSA, a fully vested 403(b) retirement plans with employer matching, 22 days of accrued paid time off (PTO) per fiscal year, 14 paid holidays per calendar year, group life insurance, short-term & long-term disability, identity theft protection, and annual opportunities for professional development. Although not guaranteed, certain additional benefits may be offered through the Naval Academy, such as use of certain recreational facilities (including the Brigade Sports Complex gym, marina and indoor/outdoor pools).

This position is based in historic Annapolis at our current offices located overlooking the Severn River on the beautiful grounds of the U.S. Naval Academy. In 2023, the staff of the Alumni Association and Foundation moved into new modern offices in the Alumni Center, which are on the banks of College Creek overlooking the Naval Academy and downtown Annapolis.

EXPECTATIONS OF THE POSITION
  • Develop and recommend database protocols for consistent data
  • Monitors Blackbaud CRM database, implementing internal validity checks to ensure accuracy and consistency of data
  • Enforces data integrity
  • Supports the Enterprise Data Integrity Team (EDIT), a cross functional team that meets regularly to discuss issues related to the use of the enterprise databases
  • Processes daily plug in for organization website - new user requests and profile updates
  • Familiar with SQL, stored procedures, and SQL server
  • Performs data imports
  • Performs month end database backup and restore
  • Maintains the mission of USNA AAF by using appropriate information technology
  • Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS POSITION
  • A.A. in Information Systems or related discipline or equivalent experience
  • 1 year demonstrated work experience in related field with at least 1-3 years of experience in database management
  • Experience in T-SQL (Transact SQL) Query and Stored Procedure writing
  • Familiar with database structure and methodologies
  • Must have solid problem analysis and troubleshooting skills and a proven passion for the data quality discipline
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Extremely meticulous in approach to work
  • Outstanding attention to detail
  • Ability to work with little or no supervision
  • Proven ability to meet established deadlines
  • Talent for quickly learning new tasks
