Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in nutrition (or health related field).
  • Registered Dietitian (or RD eligible)
    • Must obtain RD licensure within the first 3 months of employment
  • Ability to lift at least 40 lbs

Preferred Requirements:

  • One-year previous sports nutrition experience.

Salary: $44,000.00 / year (benefits included)

Degree Equivalency Clause: Four years of direct experience for a bachelor's degree.

SB 1310: Substitution of Work Experience for Postsecondary Education Requirements
A public employer may include a postsecondary degree as a baseline requirement only as an alternative to the number of years of direct experience required, not to exceed:
(a) Two years of direct experience for an associate degree;
(b) Four years of direct experience for a bachelor's degree;
(c) Six years of direct experience for a master's degree;
(d) Seven years of direct experience for a professional degree; or
(e) Nine years of direct experience for a doctoral degree
Related work experience may not substitute for any required licensure, certification, or registration required for the position of employment as established by the public employer and indicated in the advertised description of the position of employment.
Minimum Qualifications that require a high school diploma are exempt from SB 1310.

  • Assigned teams: Football (assistant role and primary team assignment) as well as lead team dietitian for Men's and Women's Soccer and Men's and Women's tennis.
  • Manages the education, counseling, and fueling strategies for Men's & Women's Soccer, Men's and Women's Tennis; including all initial nutrition assessment meetings, follow ups, team talks, food demos, locker room snack orders, etc.
  • Analyze and interpret DEXA scans and sweat tests for assigned sports teams as needed.
  • Supports Sports Nutrition department team by providing real-time meal education during assigned team meal periods, cooking demos, and hydration status management.
  • Manage product inventory: including ordering, receiving, storing, and distribution to the fueling station, teams, and athletic facilities as needed.
  • Assist with the oversight of the Lee Roy Selmon Athletics Center's fueling station including fueling station student schedules, product needs, and maintenance.
  • Assist in development and continuous improvement of nutrition education materials and resources and write monthly newsletter for staff, students, and coaches.
  • Examine and translate scientific research related to nutrition, athletic performance and dietary supplements.
  • Assist the sports dietitians in performing various administrative duties, including but not limited to budget and purchasing card management.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the sports nutrition staff.
