Job description


AutoZone's Associate Digital Content UX Designer produces a best-in-class, user-centered visual design by supporting key product team partners via competitive analysis and design research, product architecture and conceptual mockups, and delivering high-fidelity, production-ready comps.
The Associate Digital Content UX Designer will:
  • Aim to pursue knowledge of best practices, latest design trends and technological advancements in the changing landscape of the digital retail space
  • Create engaging visual content solutions, animations, and interactive elements that are functional, usable, and accessible to bring purpose and value to the business and our customers

The Associate Digital Content UX Designer will strive to be ever curious about our customer's interaction with our product, to be lean and nimble focused on outcomes and optimal output, always have a team attitude, and be respectful as we fight for our users.
Responsibilities
  • Work collaboratively with product managers/owners, marketing, copywriters, designers, and developers to prioritize the product team's design needs in a fast-paced Agile environment
  • Leverage user research, both qualitative and quantitative, from the research and analytics teams
  • Assemble competitive analysis and best practices to provide insight regarding the consumer market, trends, and our customer needs as it applies to specific projects
  • Deliver high-quality visuals that blend artistic creativity with technical skills to develop assets that communicate brand identity, enhance user experience, and drive digital marketing campaigns
  • Take ownership of projects, design work, and maintain availability to help ensure proper understanding of the design before, during, and after handoff
  • Help to define essential user journeys/experiences and functional requirements with a product team from a design perspective
  • Present design work back to business stakeholders
  • Assess personal performance regularly and develop actions plans that support professional development and career progression as per AutoZone's career development framework

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Design, Marketing, Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field
  • Experience with Digital Design with a solid understanding of responsive and user centric layouts
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating a mastery of typography, color theory, layout, and visual hierarchy
  • Understanding and experience with building designs for responsive and mobile environments
  • Experience with Sketch, Figma, or Adobe CC.
  • Knowledge in User Experience and Digital Design with an understanding of Design Systems
  • The ability to evaluate and distill qualitative/quantitative research and analytic data and then use that to provide solutions to a variety of business problems
  • Ability to organize and manage projects within the constraints of business and customer needs
  • Ability to present ideas and design concepts to a cross-functional audience and incorporate stakeholder feedback
  • Ability to work within a fast-paced, agile environment while not compromising on the high quality of thinking, approach, and deliverables
  • Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • A team player who can handle constructive criticism and work collaboratively with others to work towards a common goal
  • A driven, energetic, and passionate individual who is customer-centric
