Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced UI/UX Designer & Developer (Programmer Analyst 5) to support enterprise application development for a government organization in Lansing, Michigan. The ideal candidate will bring strong user experience design, prototyping, accessibility, and stakeholder collaboration skills to deliver intuitive and compliant digital solutions.
This is a hybrid position, requiring onsite work two days per week from day one. Remote-only candidates will not be considered.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop user-centered UI/UX solutions for web and enterprise applications
Create wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes using tools such as Figma or Sketch
Develop and maintain design systems and reusable UI components
Conduct and lead user workshops, usability sessions, and stakeholder interviews
Translate business and user needs into clear design and functional requirements
Ensure applications meet ADA accessibility standards and usability best practices
Collaborate with developers, product owners, and business teams
Provide clear documentation, design specifications, and UI standards
Present design concepts and receive feedback from internal and external stakeholders
Required Skills & Experience
3-5+ years of UI/UX design and development experience
2+ years using wireframing and prototyping tools such as Figma, Sketch, or similar
2-3+ years working with design systems and reusable components
2+ years leading user workshops and facilitation sessions
1+ year of experience working with ADA accessibility standards
Strong written and verbal communication skills
