The Softball head coach is a seasonal position (PT) and is responsible for the organization, administration and coaching of the Softball program, including supervising staff.
Head Softball Coach
Part-time (Seasonal)
Bucks County Community College invites applications for the position of Head Coach for the Softball Team. The head softball coach is a seasonal position (PT) and is responsible for the organization, administration and coaching of the Softball program, including supervising staff.
Primary Duties
  • Execute a clearly defined philosophy of coaching and teaching Softball and preparing the team for competition.
  • Recruit sufficient, qualified student-athletes.
  • Supervise the assistant coach.
  • Meet fundraising goals set for the program.
  • Provide oversight, reports, and recommendations pertaining to facility usage, improvements, and deficiencies to the athletic department.
  • Establish a collaborative partnership for facility improvement with the athletic department and physical plant leadership.
  • Drive college or rental vehicle for away games.
  • Oversee the collection of team statistics for each game.
  • Monitor in collaboration with the athletic department, student-athletes' eligibility/ academic progress and provide support as needed.
  • Support and assist with retention and completion initiatives in conjunction with the athletic department and student service support staff.
  • Display a commitment to equality in player development and training.
  • Provide student-athletes with a supportive and inclusive environment.
  • Provide off season activities for player development and engagement.
  • Comply with all College and USCAA, policies and procedures / rules and regulations and all other aspects of directing a quality intercollegiate Softball program.
  • Act as a mandatory reporter for student issues and concerns and potential Title IX and College Code of Conduct violations.
  • Lead and Coach as a professional, mentor, and excellent representative of the values of Bucks County Community College.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Experience coaching intercollegiate (varsity), club sport, or varsity high school athletics.
  • Knowledge and experience coaching Women's Softball.
  • Knowledge of NCAA and/or USCAA or NJCAA rules and compliance.
  • CPR certification, First Aid (Recommended).
  • Valid Driver's License and good driving record.
  • Must be willing to drive college or rental team van.

Background Checks/Clearances
Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of all required background checks and clearances. These include, but are not limited to, a Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Background Check and verification of a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
This position requires the operation of a motor vehicle as part of the job duties. Therefore, candidates must possess a valid driver's license and successfully complete a motor vehicle records check in addition to standard background screening requirements.
Season Salary $8,000
