Job description

USA Wrestling Safe Sport Compliance Manager

To lead USA Wrestling's safe sport compliance operations and serve as primary liaison for all Safe Sport matters. Primary responsibilities include: complaint intake, management, and response; data and trend tracking and analysis; and communication regarding education, resources, and specific cases. This description is intended to describe the type of work being performed by a person assigned to this job. It is not an exhaustive list of all duties and responsibilities required by the employee.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Serve as liaison to the US Center for SafeSport (the Center), United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee (USOPC), other national governing bodies, youth organizations, etc. for all Safe Sport matters.
  • Work with outside counsel, the Director of State Services, the Executive Director, and others as appropriate, on all matters related to USA Wrestling's Safe Sport program.
  • Review, update and develop all USA Wrestling's Safe Sport policies and procedures. Work closely with various departments to ensure best practices are created, communicated, and consistently followed.
  • Receive, track, investigate, and adjudicate complaints, including assisting the necessary parties with investigating Safe Sport complaints and other policy violations.
  • Provide communication to all relevant parties on progress and status of complaints, investigations, hearing procedures, appeals and final resolutions.
  • Deploy training requirements and ensure compliance with training requirements by staff, membership and all covered stakeholders.
  • Manage all communications with and relationships with relevant service providers, including but not limited to educational program providers, the Center, USOPC, etc.
  • Ensure there are effective tracking systems for compliance, complaints and related matters, and provide updates and status reports as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with the Communications and Marketing teams to disseminate information through USA Wrestling newsletters, emails, social media, USA Wrestling's website etc.
  • Provide regular and consistent information to State Safe Sport Coordinators.
  • Manage and oversee administrative and event audits from the Center.
  • Serve as an information resource for USA Wrestling constituents.
  • Plan and bring educational opportunities to events, State Leaders Summit, and other meetings, as appropriate.
  • Develop and deliver curriculum related to SafeSport for our state associations, member clubs and member wrestling leaders. This includes attending events and state conventions to deliver training, answer questions and provide support.
  • Serve as the primary provider of customer service to members for all issues and questions related to SafeSport. This will require being available by phone and email outside of normal business hours during the wrestling season.
  • Maintain records on all cases.
  • Support the Manager of Executive Affairs with USOPC compliance matters when requested.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Master's degree in relevant discipline (legal studies, social services, law enforcement, etc.) preferred. Bachelor's degree required, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years working experience in related field.
  • Solid interpersonal, communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to build trust, build rapport and convey empathy.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to assess and navigate complex, highly sensitive situations.
  • Ability to assess a problem objectively and move through problem solving effectively using discretion and judgement.
  • Possess excellent written, verbal, and organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Experience with conducting multiple party/complex investigations including interviewing skills, assessments and recommendations.
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background screen administered by USA Wrestling's provider
  • Must successfully complete SafeSport training.
Travel

Domestic and international travel may be required; some weekends required

Hiring Pay Range

Compensation commensurate with experience. $65,000-80,000 per year
