Mens Softball Umpire Job Description

Job Title: Mens Softball Umpire

Classification: Part Time, Seasonal

Reports To: Reports directly to the Assistant Recreation Director

Staff Supervision: None

Position Purpose:

To umpire Mens Softball League Games

Essential Job Functions:

Schedule advance dates for work

Review USA Softball rules

Report to the softball box before assigned game time.

Umpire game

Equipment Used:

Umpire uniform required, brush, umpire indicator.

Qualifications:

Age 16+, USA Softball certified umpire required.

Physical Requirements:

The position will require the physical ability to umpire effectively the game of slow pitch softball including walk/run/stand and arm signals. The position will require good vision and maintain verbal communication with the players and coaches. Required ability to use good judgment and apply the rules of softball. Sport related tolerance to verbal criticism from participants and spectators. Effective communications skills are necessary along with your ability to maintain a safe environment for participants and spectators.
