About the Role:
Xpress Pediatrics in Kensington, MD is looking for a passionate and skilled Nurse Practitioner with at least 1 year General pediatric or pediatric urgent care experience to join our dedicated care team. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children and families in our community. Responsibilities:
  • Provide comprehensive pediatric care including well-child visits, acute illness evaluations, and follow-up appointments
  • Diagnose and treat common pediatric conditions across all age groups from newborns to adolescents
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, labs, and imaging as clinically appropriate
  • Prescribe medications and develop individualized treatment plans
  • Educate patients and families on health maintenance, preventive care, and disease management
  • Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and care team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR)
Requirements:
  • Active Nurse Practitioner (NP) license in the state of Maryland
  • Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing (MSN or DNP) with a focus in Pediatrics or Family Practice
  • Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP) or Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) certification preferred
  • Prior clinical experience in a pediatric setting strongly preferred
  • BLS/CPR certification required; PALS certification a plus
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to connect with children and their families
  • Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume, fast-paced clinical environment
